Altran at the Paris Motor Show for the first time

Altran has participated in the biennial "Paris Motor Show" for the first time. Apart from the Geneva Motor Show and the IAA in Frankfurt, this is the most important European exhibition of the automotive sector of the year.

500 international brands from 30 countries were showcasing themselves and their new products between the 4 and 19 October 2008. For Altran the automotive industry also represents a key sector; with 2,500 consultants, the Group offers innovative solutions in Asia, South America, Eastern and Central Europe and, of course, in particular in Germany.

ALTRAN at the BMW Group IT Exhibition 2008

At this year's BMW Group IT exhibition, ALTRAN with its subsidiaries ALTRAN CIS, ASKON ConsultingGroup, BERATA and EUROSPACE showcased its competences in the areas of technology and R&D consulting as well as information systems consulting in the automotive sector and was able to set out its stall as a single-source project services provider. There were opportunities to provide more details on the specialist expertise regarding AUTOSAR, development processes, model-based software and vehicle electrical system architecture on the stand as part of the guided tours organised by BMW. The acknowledged strong position of ALTRAN in the market was underlined by an excellent talk on the topic of AUTOSAR. ALTRAN also attracted lively interest with the BMW 1 Series convertible, by example of which the team from BERATA and ASKON presented "visual emotion recognition" in conjunction with light simulation based on "rapid prototyping" and "test automation" to the interested specialist audience, using a Bluetooth hands-free calling device in their demonstrations.

New customer in Singapore

The development of complex installations to handle silicon panels, which are set to revolutionise the display market (TVs, PCs/laptops, mobile phones, PDAs), is the line of business that TCZ Pte Ltd is in. The company based in Singapore is a joint venture between Carl Zeiss SMT and the US light source specialist Cymer. Cymer's long years of experience in laser technology play an important role on the one hand, as does the extensive know-how of Carl Zeiss SMT AG in the field of optics and in plant engineering on the other.

ALTRAN Technologies will analyse the overall system of the crystallisation tool for the new customer to allow the installation to be operated beyond the scope of the customer specification through improved interaction between optics, lasers, stage, measuring systems, electronics and software. A central component is the interfacing between the distributed development operations in Singapore, San Diego and Oberkochen and the customers in Asia.

ISO certification for R&D Center in Flöha

The R&D Center of ALTRAN Technologies in Flöha has passed the auditing process. Certification to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 was carried out by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH and covered the areas of aerospace as well as test, inspection and simulation systems.

On completion of the inspection of the standard-related processes, TÜV NORD came to a very positive result confirming that the quality management system fulfils all the requirements. Background: This system was originally created on the basis of requirements of customers from the aerospace sector and subsequently realised and developed further with the support of the ALTRAN Technologies management (Innovation Division).

But there are also many new plans for quality management. The optimisation process is to be continued on an ongoing basis in collaboration with staff at the R&D Center to ensure that the quality management system will stand the test of time.
