ConsortiaAUTOSARAUTOSAR stands for AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture and is an alliance of automotive manufacturers, automotive suppliers, tool developers and semiconductor companies. Since it was founded in 2003, AUTOSAR has become a permanent fixture in the automotive sector. The consortium partners comprise over 80 enterprises, including such prestigious companies as Adam Opel GmbH, BMW AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Continental AG, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company, Peugeot Citroën Automobiles S.A., Toyota Motor Corporation and Volkswagen AG. ALTRAN Technologies has the remit of providing the administration for the consortium. Tasks include in particular work in the committees, responsibility for the IT infrastructure, communication between the partners, controlling as well as liaising with and incorporating new members. In addition, the quality management and the technical office have also been transferred into the hands of ALTRAN Technologies, thus ensuring the consistent quality of the AUTOSAR software (and its publication).
