Consulting services from ALTRAN generate significant added value for our customers. This added value results not only from the consultant's technical excellence but also from the possibility of being able to use technical and methodological knowledge across sectors. In other words: The customers benefit from a know-how transfer of expert knowledge, which has not actually (yet) been available in their own industry.

The backbone of this interdisciplinary consulting approach is the ALTRAN Solution Center. It combines the varied technical and methodological competences of all consultants, which enables us to offer our customers a wide-ranging portfolio of consulting services in all sectors. For this purpose so-called Groups of Excellence are formed, which bundle the competences of specialists to focus on certain topical areas. These include processes and methods (such as requirements management, project management and quality management) as well as innovative technical areas (Project Reference) (such as optical simulations, measuring technology and embedded systems). In a process of continual improvement and learning, experience of best practice is gained from diverse sectors through constant market observation and the thorough analysis of project experiences.

ALTRAN derives a further crucial competitive advantage from its own R&D Centers, which are capable of carrying out entire development projects in various areas in specially set up laboratories (see below). The infrastructure of these centers includes the equipment, the know-how about the relevant topics as well as the specific processes that are essential for innovation in the high-tech arena.

Research & Development Center, Flöha

Originally specialising in aerospace matters, this R&D Center now possesses cross-sector experience thanks to technology transfer. This allows the center to play a supporting role in consulting projects and to realise research and development projects, including the manufacture of prototypes and after-sales service. The available project services range from comprehensive technology consulting to systems and strategy consulting covering the entire product lifecycle.

In addition to business line Test and Simulation Systems (Project Reference), the portfolio of our R&D Center includes those of High Frequency Technology, Mathematical Simulations and, of course still Aerospace. But thanks to the outstanding personnel and material resources, R&D projects from other specialist areas can also be handled.

Embedded Systems Development Center, Hamburg

The laboratory for embedded systems in Hamburg focuses its work specifically on the development of control devices and will assist you with the development of individual modules as well as entire controllers. And that includes the electronic hardware, software and firmware as well as the mechanical components. The entire design lifecycle is covered, from the concept to the prototype ready for series production (Project Reference). Our local project team will provide you with a tailor-made service, covering everything from the specification via feasibility analyses and prototype construction to qualification and production start-up. And what will be produced in the way of development documentation is determined solely by the customer's requirements. In addition to producing specifications, test plans and construction documents, our specialists are also very familiar with sector-specific documentation (especially for the aerospace and automotive sectors). We shall also be happy to make our experience available to you for the selection of suppliers for the production of your new system components.

One special core competence is the development of LED-based light control devices.

For this reason we were named Premium Lighting Partner by the EBV company.

Facility for Embedded Software, Lippstadt

The Embedded Software Development Center in Lippstadt is a competent partner for solutions in the area of software development for embedded systems and all the tasks associated with that. Its service spectrum ranges from feasibility studies via requirements management, the design, implementation and integration of algorithms, application and driver software for control units, documentation, testing and simulation to project management. Solutions involving hardware and mechanical components can also be offered in close collaboration with the laboratory for embedded systems in Hamburg.
