AUTOSAR
Consortia
AUTOSAR is an acronym for AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture and is a joint project of automobile manufacturers, suppliers, tool developers and semiconductor companies. Since its foundation in 2003 AUTOSAR has become one of the largest and most important projects of the automotive industry.
It is composed of more than 160 members and partners, including, among others, BMW AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Continental AG, Daimler AG, General Motors Holdings LLC, Ford Motor Company, Peugeot Citroën Automobiles S.A., Toyota Motor Corporation and Volkswagen AG.
Partnership
Currently an Altran team supports the partnership in the area of administration. The tasks include support and supervision of the different committees, the integration of new members, hosting and organising AUTOSAR conferences as well as the internal and external communication. Administration is the first contact to the AUTOSAR consortium.
Prior to that task Altran was for several years responsible for technical, quality and release management. Quality and release management ensure the consistent quality of the AUTOSAR specifications and their publications. However technical management supported the partnership with respect to the complete project management.
On top of that Altran is AUTOSAR premium partner since 2010 and thus involved in the development of the AUTOSAR standard for work-packages.
