FlexRay
Consortia
FlexRay is a serial, deterministic and fault-tolerant bus system for application in the automotive industry. It meets the high requirements regarding the future interconnection in vehicles, excelling in high data-transmission rates, real-time capability and system stability. For this reason, the FlexRay bus system is particularly suited for application in driver-assistance systems, drives and undercarriages.
The FlexRay bus system was developed by the FlexRay consortium, an international partnership of numerous companies and institutes, headed by its core members Adam Opel GmbH, BMW AG, Daimler AG, Freescale Halbleiter Deutschland GmbH, NXP B.V., Robert Bosch GmbH and Volkswagen AG.
Partnership
The core members entrusted Altran with the administration of the FlexRay consortium supporting it in the management of the entire operative business. This included organising and facilitating meetings of the Seeting Committee and the Executive Board, public relations and committee tasks, providing the complete IT infrastructure, support for members, accounting and controlling as well as the web presence.
After concluding the technical work for the FlexRay consortium in 2010, Altran has assisted the FlexRay consortium with transferring the specifications set up for the FlexRay bus system into an international standard and finalising the FlexRay consortium.
