VIE program
Altran's VIE-Programme in Germany
What is the VIE programme?
The voluntary international programme "VIE" (French "Volontariat International en Entreprise") was established in 2000 and gives applicants the opportunity to work at a branch of a French company. In principle, only companies headquartered in France can offer the VIE programme.
Who can apply?
All European citizens aged between 18 and 28 can apply for a job offered within the framework of the programme. The employment lasts between 6 and 24 months and can be extended once in a period of two years. Target groups of the VIE programme are students, undergraduates and people starting their career.
Where will I be employed?
The employment contract is concluded between UBIFRANCE (the
French agency for foreign trade) and the French parent company.
What conditions must be fulfilled?
VIE candidates receive a monthly remuneration adjusted to the cost of living in the country in question, generally exempted from taxes and social contributions. In addition, expenses for travel to Germany, a lump-sum for relocation, French or international health insurance, 30 days of paid holidays per year and a possible rent allowance are covered. Moreover, the time a VIE employee works abroad is included in the French basic pension.

How does the programme work?
As a rule, VIE colleagues are employed at Altran for a minimum period of twelve months, usually assuming classical project tasks for clients. They are completely integrated in the Altran team at the customer's location and often independently handle processes or work packages. Thus the VIE employee becomes familiar with many subjects or methods, gaining a first insight into the day-to-day work of a consultant. After concluding the VIE programme it is possible to apply for permanent employment with Altran.
Where do I find the job offers?
At present, the Altran Group is offering more than 130 VIE positions worldwide, about 25 of them in Germany. If you are interested, you will find current job offers here or here.
If you fulfil the requirements described above, you are an engineer, computer expert or scientist and interested in technology, IT and innovations consulting, and want to get to know Altran, please apply with the keyword VIE! For further information please visit the official VIE website www.civiweb.com.
